On 24 June 1884, widow Mrs Annie Poole King of Kensington House, Brislington, Somerset leased Standish House on a contract term of 21 years from Edward Dutton, 4th Baron Sherborne, at a rate of £150pa.
He was responsible for (in 1420) building St. Luke's church in Brislington.
Besides the 258 watercolours, he also produced around 100 drawings for Braikenridge depicting views of Brislington, Bristol.
Brislington Brook rises in twin tributaries fed by springs on the northern slopes of Maes Knoll, at the eastern end of Dundry Hill, just north of the boundary between Somerset and Bristol.
