Angelo Ernest Branca (21 March 1903 - 3 October 1984) was a judge in British Columbia's Supreme Court and Court of Appeal from 1963 until 1978, a prominent Italian-Canadian leader, especially of the Vancouver Italian community, and a Canadian amateur middleweight boxing champion.
During the hearing at the British Columbia Court of Appeal, the Court invited Mrs. Edwards to apply to be admitted as a party and to request joint custody of Elijah with her husband.
On this issue, Wilson gave extensive consideration to the majority decision of the British Columbia Court of Appeal in R. v. Ferguson, 1987 6 W.W.R. 481.
