Burgstall, Saxony-Anhalt a gemeinde in the Börde district in Saxony-Anhalt.
When Aufrecht moved AMG to larger premises in Affalterbach, Melcher left the company to work independently in Burgstall.
By a 1562 agreement with the Hohenzollern margraves, the Bismarcks swapped Burgstall with Schönhausen, located east of the Elbe river and formerly part of the Archbishopric of Magdeburg, which also had been under Hohenzollern rule since 1513.
In 1976 most of AMG moved to Affalterbach, with the racing-engine development remaining at the old location in Burgstall.
