In 2005 Mezrich published Busting Vegas: The MIT Whiz Kid Who Brought the Casinos to Their Knees (ISBN 0-06-057512-3) a semi-sequel to Bringing Down the House.
The book's main character Semyon Dukach, while attending MIT is recruited by team leader Victor Cassius to play on a highly specialised blackjack team that employs advanced advantage play strategies like card steering and Ace sequencing.
Dukach was the main character in Busting Vegas and the only member of the MIT blackjack team to be referred to by his real name in either book.
