Even its feudalization in later centuries under several lords, vassals of the masters of Milan, did not stop its slow but constant growth; nor did the plague, which hit hard in 1630, traditionally being stopped by the Virgin Mary after the bustocchi, always a pious Catholic flock, prayed for respite from the deadly epidemic.

In 1869 Cristoforo Benigno Crespi, a textile manufacturer from Busto Arsizio (Varese), bought the 1 km valley between the rivers Brembo and Adda, to the south of Capriate, with the intention of installing a cotton mill on the banks of the Adda.
The main rivalry is with Yamamay Busto Arsizio, a team based in Busto Arsizio, in the Province of Varese, because the two cities are neighbors and because they belong to two different provinces.
Busto Arsizio Nord is served by the regional trains Milan–Novara and by the Malpensa Express, both operated by the lombard railway company Trenord.
