At its founding, Blue Air also operated a domestic Bucharest-Timişoara flight, though this was discontinued in March 2005 due to low demand and competition from TAROM as well as Căile Ferate Române, the Romanian rail company.
All are built for standard gauge (1435 mm) and run using a catenary wire at 50 Hz 25 kV AC.
As of 2009, Gara de Nord served about 200 trains, including domestic trains operated by Căile Ferate Române, Regiotrans and Trans Feroviar calatori as well international trains to Hungary - Budapest, Bulgaria - Sofia, Varna and Burgas, Republic of Moldova - Chișinău, Ukraine - Kiev, Chernivtsi, Austria - Vienna, Turkey - Istanbul, Russia - Moscow and Saratov, Belarus - Minsk and Dnepropetrovsk.
The village is served by the Izvorul Olt station of Romanian State Railways, on the Războieni-Târgu Mureş-Deda-Miercurea Ciuc-Sfântu Gheorghe-Braşov line.
