Călin Dan (born 1955), Romanian artist, theorist and curator
Călin was born in the small village of Plopi in the north of Transnistria, in Rîbniţa sub-district, then in Moldavian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.
The myth reappears in the late romantic literature, in poems such as Călin (file de poveste) (Călin (story pages)) and Luceafărul (The Evening Star) (1884) by Romanian poet Mihai Eminescu.
