CD27 plays a role in lymphoid proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis.
More recently, other sub-populations have been explored using co-stimulatory molecules CD27 and CD28 expression in addition to CCR7 and CD62L.
Immunologically, peripheral B-cells show more functional IgD+ positive CD27 cells than usual.
