ER&DCI Institute of Technology (ER&DCI IT) is an educational institution under the direct control of Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), Thiruvananthapuram.
Chinese Development Assistance Council, a self-help and non-profit organization set up by the Chinese community in Singapore to help the lower-income group and academically-weak students.
With this urgent requirement in mind, CDAC GIST involved in the initiative all major players: IBM, Microsoft and Red Hat Linux and hence in 2008, a joint meeting was organized between CDAC GIST and senior representatives of these multi-nationals to devise a common and uniform strategy for inputting and equally important for storage.
Initially, it was suggested to use the IISCI language code devised by CDAC to enable portability of Kannada across different software.

The people invited to this conference included members of the Adivesha Co-operative Bank in Shimoga who had computerised all the bank's transactions in Kannada by using a software called as Gistcard which was developed by CDAC.

The Chinese Development Assistance Council (abbrev: CDAC; Chinese: 华社自助理事会) is a joint development of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI) and the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA).
The school also serves the surrounding Hougang community as a CDAC Tuition Centre in the evenings and on Saturdays.
