Calacoto is located in the central zone of the Zona Sur which is considered the biggest residential area in the country along with Santa Cruz’s Equipetrol and Cochabamba’s Cala Cala.
The better known town of nearby Cala Ratjada actually developed as the fishing and trading port of Capdepera and to this day operates a ferry service with neighbouring Minorca.
It is located in La Cala de Benidorm, close to the Mediterranean seaside (300 metres), and, when the day is clear, the island of Tabarca can be seen from its highest balconies.
In the early 70's Calà co-founded together with Umberto Smaila, Franco Oppini and Ninì Salerno a cabaret-ensemble, "i gatti di Vicolo Miracoli".
In 1994 Chrysler sold Lamborghini to Megatech, the Calà design took shape, but when Megatech sold Lamborghini to the Volkswagen Group in 1998, the concept was shelved.

With the advent of tourism, the towns of La Cala and Las Lagunas began construction of residential urban residential areas, resulting in the birth of Chollocasa, Cala, Irentinspain, and many more cities.
Teggiano became a fief of other noble families including the Gomez da Silva, the Grimaldi, the Caracciolo, the Villani, the Colonna, the Calà and Schipani.
