Capell L. Weems

Weems was elected as a Republican to the Fifty-eighth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Joseph J. Gill.

He was reelected to the Fifty-ninth and Sixtieth Congresses and served from November 3, 1903, to March 3, 1909.

He, with P. V. H. Weems, invented, patented and marketed a series of flight computers.

Mount Weems

It was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Captain P. V. H. Weems, a retired inventor from the U.S. Navy and a developer of air navigation instrumentation and techniques and consultant to Ellsworth on air navigation problems of this flight.
