2005 Champ Car season

Cedric the Entertainer entered into a partnership with HVM Racing in October 2005.

Black mecca

In 2011 in a New York Times article whose short title was "Atlanta Emerges as a Black Entertainment Mecca", comedian Cedric the Entertainer, who hosted that year's Soul Train Music Awards, said Atlanta had always been a black mecca and continues to be one, with respect to the black musical talent in the city.

Dan Clarke

With a series of impressive tests he was signed to drive in the Champ Car World Series for CTE Racing-HVM, owned jointly by Cedric the Entertainer and Keith Wiggins, in 2006 as a teammate to the even younger Nelson Philippe.
