Railway XIII included Ces Dacre, who later represented New Zealand at cricket.
In 1917 he was involved in a breakaway movement from the club that switched to rugby league, playing matches against Ponsonby United and the City Rovers.
The Minor Associations team contained only two men whose career included more than a handful of first-class games: Ces Dacre and David Collins.
