On September 30, 2009 Colton Harris-Moore broke into and stole a Cessna 182 Turbo aircraft from Boundary County Airport, navigating over the high west ridge and westward through Washington state, over and across the Cascade Mountains and finally crash-landing outside of Granite Falls, Washington.
In the mid-1970s, CAL FIRE found that the contractor-owned air tactical planes, mostly single-engine Cessna 182s and Cessna 210s, did not provide the airspeed and safety needed for the new air tanker program.
A man armed with a semi-automatic weapon emerged from the bushes and fired at the police and the Cessna 182 police plane.
