Luc Montagnier was born in Chabris on 18 August 1932, French virologist and co-recipient of the 2008 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his discovery of HIV.
He stayed in France during the German occupation and died in 1942 in the village of Chabris, where he and his wife had gone as refugees.
Another experiment was conducted by Steven Most, along with Daniel Simons, Christopher Chabris and Brian Scholl.
Louise Marie married François Gaston de Béthune, marquis de Chabris, and their children included Louis Marie Victor, comte de Béthune, and Jeanne de Béthune, wife of Count Jan Stanisław Jabłonowski.
