One of the elders of the Baptist church who championed the construction of the Auckland Tabernacle was Charles Blomfield.
It was consecrated on 15 October by the Bishop of London, Charles Blomfield.
Bather was the fourth daughter, by his second marriage, of Charles Blomfield, Bishop of London, was born at Fulham, London, on 31 March 1836.
