WELY was owned by retired CBS broadcaster Charles Kuralt from 1995 to 1997, at which point it was purchased by Janice Erickson, a Twin Cities transplant.

International Speakers Bureau was founded in 1992 by Michelle Lemmons-Poscente, who started the business in a spare bedroom in her parent’s home eventually landing her first booking of the late Charles Kuralt a few months later.
