3 unusual facts about Charles Trubshaw


Kimberley West railway station

It was built in 1882 for the Midland Railways Basford to Bennerley Junction branch, at a cost of £2,495 15s 7d, designed by Charles Trubshaw who went on to become a major railway architect.

Leicester Campbell Street railway station

With buildings designed by Charles Trubshaw, the new station was built with the platforms largely in the previous positions, but with the entrance and main buildings fronting onto London Road.

Teddesley Hall

It is certain, however, that Charles Cope Trubshaw, forebear of a dynasty of Staffordshire architects, who lived nearby, worked at Teddesley in the early days, so he is a definite candidate.
