Benham spent the first half of her career working in television production creating programming for companies such as Cinetel Productions, HGTV, The A&E Network, The History Channel and CBS affiliate WVLT-TV.
Reel to Red Productions was the first internship program of its kind established by Chelse Benham in August 2004 at The University of Texas–Pan American (UTPA) in Edinburg, Texas, USA.
