The outer doorway is framed by the giant mask of a deity, and has stylistic similarities with the Chenes regional style of distant Yucatán.
The source of the burial population is as yet unknown, but likely comes from Edzna, and the nearby Chenes and Puuc regions.
The Río Bec Style is closely related to the Chenes architectural style found northwest of the Río Bec region.
