Chennai Central–Bangalore City line

Chennai Central, Katpadi and Bangalore City, on this line, are amongst the top hundred booking stations of Indian Railway.

The Chennai Central–Bangalore City line (popularly known as Chennai-Bangalore line) connects the main railway stations in two of the larger cities in India - Chennai Central in Tamilnadu and Bangalore City in Karnataka.

The first train service in southern India and the third in India was operated by Madras Railway from Royapuram / Veyasarapady to Wallajah Road (Arcot) in 1856.


Chennai BRTS

Beginning at Adyar, the route will cover Saidapet, Jafferkanpet, Ramavaram, Puzhal, Manali, Chennai Central Railway Station, Lighthouse and will return to Adyar.

Chennai Central metro station

The station is being constructed as an underground station on Poonamallee High Road in front of the Chennai Central railway station and the Ripon Building.

Tirur railway station

Though no trains originate from this station, trains halting at the station connect the town to prominent cities in India such as Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kozhikode, Coimbatore, New Delhi, Mangalore, Pune, Jaipur, Jammu Tawi, Okha, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and so forth.
