Army Hotel Management Institute (AHMI) was established on 3 June 2009 in Dhaka, Bangladesh which was inaugurated by then chief of army staff of Bangladesh army General Moeen Uddin Ahmed in Utshab Banquet Hall, Radisson Water Garden Hotel, Dhaka with the aim to meet the need of experts in tourism and hotel management sectors in home and to export abroad.
He served as the Chief of Army Staff during the 2006–08 Bangladeshi political crisis.
Lieutenant General Nuruddin Khan was Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army and former Energy Minister of Bangladesh (1996-1997).
