The next published edition was Antiquae Lectiones by Canisius at Ingolstadt in 1602.

Later authors continued the history to the coronation of Charlemagne and his brother Carloman on 9 October 768.

Nibelungids

The early Nibelungids were patrons of the continuation of the Chronicle of Fredegar, which is indicated in the Austrasian and Arnulfing emphasis in the continuation, as distinct from the Burgundian outlook of the original chronicle.

Roger Collins

His most recent publication is a book on the seventh- and eighth-century versions of the Chronicle of Fredegar for the Monumenta Germaniae Historica.


Doon de Mayence

A contributor to the Chronicle of Fredegar states (iv. 87) that the army of Sigebert was betrayed from within its own ranks by men of Mayence, in a battle fought with Radulf on the banks of the Unstrut in Thuringia.
