At 17 years old she married Andrea Maffei, but they separated by mutual consent on 15 June 1846.
There he remained for twelve years, moving in the literary and artistic circles of the city and in 1834 helping to organise the "Salotto Maffei" salon there, hosted by Clara Maffei.
