Australian Speedcar Grand Prix

The meeting has traditionally been held in Sydney but on occasions has been held on tracks in Victoria and in 2000 the race was held at Perth's Claremont Speedway, not long before the 1/3 mile Showground track closed.

Australian Super Sedan Championship

New South Wales driver Grenville Anderson (1951-2004), holds the record for most championship wins with four titles to his name - 1975/76 (Rowley Park Speedway in Adelaide, South Australia), 1977/78 (Claremont Speedway in Perth, Western Australia), 1979/80 (Bagot Park in Darwin, Northern Territory), and 1992/93 (Latrobe Speedway in Latrobe, Tasmania).

World Series Sprintcars

The first ever World Series Sprintcars (WSS) meeting was held in Perth at the now defunct Claremont Speedway in 1987.


Claremont, Western Australia

Claremont includes the Claremont Showgrounds and the Claremont Oval, home ground of the Claremont Football Club, as well as a significant shopping area along Stirling Highway, most concentrated on the St Quentins Avenue precinct.
