The name Clarence Mason may have come from the Disbarred New York Civil Rights Attorney C. Vernon Mason (or possibly the fictional attorney Perry Mason) or Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, whilst his character and speaking style were based on Johnnie Cochran.
In February, 2000 Stevie Ray formed Harlem Heat, Inc. with Big T, Kash (formerly known as 4x4 from the No Limit Soldiers) and J. Biggs.
Just before the match began, as scripted, Michaels was served a summons from Bulldog's storyline attorney Clarence Mason.
After the soldiers broke up 4x4 changed his name to Cassius by joining a heel stable called Harlem Heat 2000 and acted as a bodyguard, the group consist of the leader Stevie Ray, Big T and manager J. Biggs then began feuding with Booker T. although the feud didn't last long and Harlem Heat 2000 began to split up.
The most well-known faction with the name was the heel group formed in the WWF when wrestler Faarooq was joined by manager Clarence Mason.
However, the titles were returned to Hart and Yokozuna the next day on a technicality following lobbying from their lawyer, Clarence Mason.
