Claris Home Page

Within weeks of the final Home Page release, parent company Apple Computer reorganized Claris into FileMaker Inc., with Home Page and the FileMaker database as its only remaining products.

Gobe Software

After leaving StyleWare and creating the product later known as ClarisWorks and AppleWorks, Bob Hearn, Scott Holdaway joined Tom Hoke, Scott Lindsey, Bruce Q. Hammond, and Carl Grice who also worked at Apple Computer's Claris division and formed Gobe Software, Inc with the notion to create a next-generation integrated office suite similar to ClarisWorks, but for the BeOS platform.

Palm Desktop

The original Macintosh and Windows versions were similar, until 3COM purchased the Claris Organizer (a Mac-only product), from Claris and rebranded it as Palm Desktop 2.

When Apple stopped bundling MacWrite, ownership was transferred to Claris, so developers could not distribute it on their programs' installation floppy disks.


Guy Berruyer

Prior employment included the French software company Groupe Bull where he was director of marketing until 1990 and Claris, where he created the French division and grew into the role of European manager until 1994.

Nick DeMartino

In addition, DeMartino initiated AFI-related sponsorships with Adobe Systems Systems), Radius, Macromedia, Claris, Avid Technology, Sony, and many others, establishing the AFI as the "go-to" place to use new media production tools.
