Claudius Crozet

Hundreds of plans and drawings which he oversaw have been retained in the archives of the Library of Virginia.

Authoring textbooks on highway, railroad and aqueduct design, his 1848 map of the entire state was the first since the one prepared by Peter Jefferson, father of Thomas Jefferson, over a century earlier.

James Caudy

Caudy hosted Washington again in 1755, and he provided him with an ample supply of grass seed that was likely produced in one of Caudy's fertile fields known as "Caudy's Meadow." Civil engineer Claudius Crozet later made mention of "Caudy's Meadow" in his fieldnotes during the planning and construction of the Northwestern Turnpike nearby.

Moncure Robinson

In 1839, with Benjamin Latrobe, John Jervis, J Edgar Thomson, Claudius Crozet, Horatio Allen, Henry Campbell, and others he helped organize the American Society of Civil Engineers in Philadelphia; although this organization languished he helped form a new AS of CE in New York in 1852.
