Clonturk is home to Drumcondra FC, who played their home games at Tolka Park stadium and were a successful side in the post World War II years, winning five Irish league titles between 1948 and 1965 as well as competing in the European Cup and Inter-Cities Fairs Cup on several occasions.
In 1743 Mary erected the parish church of Clonturk (now Drumcondra Church), and placed in it a statue of her brother by the Dutch sculptor Peter Scheemakers.
