On June 29, 2011, Cromitie, Onta Williams and David Williams were each sentenced to 25 years in prison for their parts in the attempted attack by Manhattan Federal Judge Colleen McMahon, who criticized both the defendants, as well as what she viewed as the government's overzealous handling of the investigation.
Judge Colleen McMahon of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled that Prodigy Communications Corporation had not infringed the patent held by British Telecommunications Plc through its use of hyperlinks.
Among the cases over which she has presided was a defamation case brought by Drug Enforcement Administration agents against the makers of the film American Gangster, which was alleged to have portrayed such agents as being corrupt.
