In 1964, Earl-Jean left the Cookies and signed for Colpix, recording the Goffin and King song "I'm Into Somethin' Good", which reached Number 38 in the United States on the Billboard Hot 100.
An earlier version of this song exists, recorded live at The Village Gate, but was never used on the Colpix album Nina at the Village Gate (1962).
The company distributed many American labels in the UK, including Chess, Kama Sutra, Buddah, Colpix and King.
Phillips also founded Colpix Records and produced hits for Nina Simone, The Skyliners and one of Ride the Wild Surfs stars, Shelley Fabares.
It was released in 1963 on Colpix Records and included 12 tracks with 4 songs from each of the three singers.
