In November 2009, the STS-129 space shuttle mission attached two antennas—an AIS VHF antenna, and an Amateur Radio antenna to the Columbus module of the ISS.
The mission included three spacewalks to remove and replace a materials processing experiment outside ESA’s Columbus module and return an empty ammonia tank assembly.
STS-122, which was a 12-day, 18-hour flight, delivered the European-built Columbus module to the ISS the European Space Agency (ESA).
