The Common Entrance Test (CET) is a competitive exam conducted for the purpose of admission of students to the first year or first semester of full time courses in Medical, Dental and Engineering courses in professional colleges within the state in question in India.

After introduction of MHT-CET (Maharashtra Health-Technical Common Entrance Test) by the Government of Maharashtra, the HSC Science students have shifted their focus from the regular examinations to the CETs.
Students are admitted primarily based on their ranks in the Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test EAMCET, held by the JNTUH every year.
