In 2012 she is scheduled to make her debut at the Deutsche Oper Berlin as Lucrezia Contarini in Verdi's I due Foscari.
Contarini, with 22 sailing ships, left Porto Poro on 28 July and arrived at Port Gavrion, on the west coast of Andros, on 3 August, while a galley force, under Molino, went to Kekhrios, on mainland Greece, ready for an attack on Thebes.
One reason was that both sexes from the nobility mixed freely at the casinos, which represented a development the Inquisition wished to stop: women of the Venetian nobility had formerly seldom been allowed to mix with men, but during the 18th century, this underwent a sharp contrast, a development which started when Chiara, Maddalena and Laura Contarini, daughters of doge Domenico II Contarini, had stopped using the zoccoli.
It encompasses and forms, as if a metaphor itself, its host village’s center, known, tellingly as Piazzola sul Brenta: built by descendants of no other than Domenico Contarini.
Between the 16th and 17th centuries noted Venetian families (including the Contarini and the Veniers) built a number of villas in the area, and at this same time the old center, Vo' Vecchio, was founded, seat of the comune until 1900.
