The conference is an opportunity for individuals and grassroots organizations to discuss ways to improve the quality of life in Honduras through addressing the social and economic needs of the country, primarily in the areas of education, healthcare, and community building.
Mayatan Bilingual School is a non-profit, private, independent bilingual (Spanish/English) co-educational day school located in Copán Ruinas, Copán, Honduras.

The school was founded in 1991 by a local Copán Ruinas woman, Nora Arita de Welchez, who wanted to give her children the opportunity to get a quality education in English without having to leave the town.
