Copperbelt

The discovery of copper in Zambia by the Western world is owed partly to the celebrated American scout Frederick Russell Burnham, who in 1895 led and oversaw the massive Northern Territories (BSA) Exploration Co. expedition which established that major copper deposits existed in Central Africa.

Kennedy Kanyanta

Kennedy Kenyanta (born April 10, 1979 in Mufulira, Copperbelt) is a Zambian boxer who won the 2002 Commonwealth Games in the men's flyweight division and bronze at the 2007 AllAfrica Games as an amateur.


Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage

Located 60 km west of Chingola on the banks of the Kafue River, the orphanage is a tourist attraction for those living in the Copperbelt towns and for international visitors to Zambia.

Congo Pedicle

Simon Kapwepwe

Kapwepwe's life in UNIP began drawing to an end when he was linked with rumours of a new party called the United Progressive Party (UPP) that had been formed on the Copperbelt.

Tenke Mining

Tenke's primary work is at a concession in the extensive Tenke Fungurume deposit of copper and cobalt in the copperbelt area in the south of the country, in Katanga Province.
