Confusion has arisen with Sulinus or Sulien, the Breton saint of Cornouaille and Domnonée, East Brittany (feast: 1 October) Furthermore the legend of Tysilio (or Suliau), whose feast is on 8 November, was used for the Breton saint.

Budic II of Brittany

Born in Cornouaille to Cybydan, a member of one of the royal families, Budic is said to have been expelled and fled to the court of King Aircol Lawhir of Dyfed, where he wed Arianwedd, the daughter of Saint Issel and the sister of Saint Teilo.

Their lands included both the west and east parts of the commune but the central part was under the control of the Princes of the House of Rohan under the direct authority of the Bishops of Cornouaille.

Ronan of Locronan
