Crewkerne Castle (which is also known as Castle Hill or Croft Castle) was possibly a Norman motte and bailey castle on a mound that is situated north-west of the town of Crewkerne in Somerset, England.
The Hundred of Crewkerne consisted of the ancient parishes of: St. George Hinton, Crewkerne, Misterton, Merriott, Wayford, and Seaborough.
The parish is part of the benefice of Chard, St. Mary with Combe St Nicholas, Wambrook and Whitestaunton within the deanery of Crewkerne and Ilminster.
Other frequencies are 97.1 MHz FM from Chedington (near Crewkerne), which is at 400 watts, but again directional in order to prevent interference with nearby Wessex FM from the Dorchester area, which broadcasts on 97.2 MHz FM.
Little is known of his origin and early years, but he was probably from Clapton, near Crewkerne in Somerset.
