Emblemariopsis randalli, the Hornless blenny, is a species of chaenopsid blenny found in coral reefs around Cubagua, Venezuela, in the western central Atlantic ocean.
In 1500 the city of Nueva Cádiz was founded on the island of Cubagua, Venezuela, and it was followed by the founding by Alonso de Ojeda of Santa Cruz in present day Guajira peninsula.

This expedition discovered the so-called "Pearl Islands" of Cubagua and Margarita off the northeastern coast of Venezuela.
Figueroa was known for his interest in letters, for his contempt of the local Waikerí people, and for his enjoyment of the trade in pearls from Cubagua and the Macanao Peninsula.
