It is composed of three villages: Floreşti, Luna de Sus (Magyarlóna) and Tăuţi (Kolozstótfalu) and is part of the Cluj-Napoca metropolitan area, being located less than 8 km west of Cluj-Napoca on DN1.
The town is situated on a main Romanian road link: the DN1 road between Sibiu and Sebeş, E68/E81 European routes.
Important projects for the company include construction and rehabilitation on several important Romanian roads like DN7, DN1, DN1A, DN73, DN65, DN21, DN2, DN66, DN67C, and DN7A, as well as roads in Bucharest, Voluntari, Ploieşti, Timişoara, Deva and Giurgiu.
Unirea is located on the Mureş River, in the north-east corner of Alba County, approximately 50 km from the county capital, Alba Iulia, and 20 km from the town of Turda, on the Romanian National Road DN1.
