Dabhoi is the place were the great Gujarati poet, Dayaram, composer of many Garbis (devotional songs) and a devotee of Ranchhodraiji of Dakor took his last breath.
During the Maharaja's reign, a large narrow-gauge railway network was set, which extended to Becharaji and many other places in Baroda State, with Dabhoi as its focal point.
