Sir Anthony Farrar-Hockley (1924–2006), British full general and military historian
Frederick Hockley (1809 – 1885) was a British occultist who was a London based Freemason and a member of the Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia.
Opened in 1960 as the Hockley County Secondary School, with pupils from both Hockley and Ashingdon primary schools who were selected for the first year and a second year of Hockley pupils who previously went to Rayleigh Secondary.
He came away as the overall winner of the under-19 boys group, and progressed into the table tennis finals, held in Cheshire later in the year.
The Hockley Valley Resort is a ski retreat, golf course, conference centre, and hotel in Mono, Ontario, Canada.
It was first described in 1891 from a specimen taken near Hockley.
During his hiatus from county cricket, Hockley taught sports at Marlborough House School in Cranbrook, whilst continuing to play cricket for Hartley Country Club.
His 200th league appearance came on 2 March 2007 in a 1-1 draw away to Chester City, Hockley replacing Lloyd Kerry as a late substitute.
It is part of the Waller Independent School District and serves students from Waller, Pine Island, Prairie View, unincorporated sections of Waller County (including Fields Store), and unincorporated sections of Harris County (including Hockley).
It is one of two cemeteries located in the city's Jewellery Quarter, in Hockley (the other being Key Hill Cemetery).
