An eighth, fragmentary specimen of Archaeopteryx was discovered in the late 1980s in the somewhat younger sediments at Daiting.
"Daitingopterus" (meaning "Daiting Wing") is a nomen nudum, meaning that it is not a valid scientific name.
It is based on specimen BSP AS.I.745, a skeleton from the slightly younger Mörnsheimer Limestone of Daiting, Germany.
