This hard rock / blues based foursome consisted of former Aerosmith guitar hero Jimmy Crespo; CSN&Y drummer Dallas Taylor; bassist/songwriter Danny Sheridan and his then wife, vocalist Bonnie Bramlett.
From September 2009 until February 2010, frontman Schuylar Croom filled in on vocals for Dallas Taylor with Maylene and the Sons of Disaster.
It is the last Underoath recording to feature vocalist Dallas Taylor and guitarist Octavio Fernandez, but is the first to include guitarist Timothy McTague.
Prior to recording, it was ready to be recorded with Underoath founder and frontman Dallas Taylor (the album's original title was intended to be Dear Misery and would feature songs such as "Coryn's Defeat", and "Look Past the Bright Lights", which is now "Reinventing Your Exit"), but instead was replaced with the band's current lead vocalist Spencer Chamberlain.
