Thought to be named in honor of the immigrants from Dalarna, Sweden it is more likely that Dalbo comes from the place of the same name in Dalsland.

The regiment's soldiers were originally recruited from the provinces of Västergötland and Dalsland, but it was later garrisoned in Halland.
The latter is in turn part of a series of terminal moraines that runs from southern Norway through Dalsland, Skaraborg and Östergötland, continuing under the Baltic Sea into southern Finland and Russia as the Salpausselkä moraine which separates lakes Ladoga and Saimaa.
He also sent Norwegian troops under the command of George von Reichwein across the border from Vinger and Eidskog as well as troops under Henrik Bjelke into Swedish Dalsland.
