On 6 March 2011, he performed his first set at the Hammersmith Apollo alongside comedian Dara Ó Briain to support wildlife charity Our Disappearing Planet.
It has also gained a reputation as an ideal venue for comedians to try out new work prior to major tours, and well known names such as Russell Brand, Harry Hill, Russell Howard, Dara Ó Briain and Al Murray have all played there.
The band was featured in Three Men in More Than One Boat in which Cornwall native Rory McGrath and fellow comedians Griff Rhys Jones and Dara Ó Briain visited them while they were recording at the Sawmills Studio.

In 2010 the second episode BBC television series Three Men Go to Ireland featured the three men, Dara Ó Briain, Griff Rhys-Jones and Rory McGrath, racing SODs adjacent to the Lough Derg Yacht Club the previous October.
In 2005 the comedians Griff Rhys Jones, Dara Ó Briain, and Rory McGrath embarked on a recreation of the novel for what was to become a regular yearly BBC TV series, Three Men in a Boat.
A number of his students, both at Synge Street and Coláiste Eoin included John Crown, Colm Mac Eochaidh, Aengus Ó Snodaigh, Dara Ó Briain and Liam Ó Maonlaí.
