John Madara (born May 28, 1936 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), also known as John or Johnny Madara, is an American singer, songwriter and record producer, who teamed up with David White and Arthur Singer to write the 1957 hit song "At the Hop".
The song was written by the group's members, John Medora, David White and Ray Gilmore, who was a long time radio personality at WIBG (Wibbage) 990AM in Philadelphia, Pa.
He has also received residencies at Djerassi Art Colony and Villa Montalvo in California, Weir Farm in Connecticut, the Julia and David White Colony in Costa Rica, Fundacion Valparaiso in Spain, and the Oberpfaelzer Kuenstlerhaus in Germany.
