Today the arboretum contains over 200 species of trees and shrubs from temperate environments around the world, including particularly fine specimens of Davidia involucrata, Paulownia tomentosa var tsinlingensis, and Quercus rugosa.
There is an examples of a tree, known as the dove tree, handkerchief tree, pocket handkerchief tree or ghost tree which was sent from China around 1900 by Father Armand David.
Providing shade for the rhododendrons are many mature trees, including more unusual specimens such as Davidia involucrata ('handkerchief tree').
