The Deir el-Muharraq (Arabic: الدير المحرق, ad-Deir al-Muḥarraq, "the burnt monastery") or Monastery of the Virgin Mary in Asyut, Egypt, is a Coptic monastery near El-Qusiya.
Lived under the reigns of Amenemhat II, Senusret II and Senusret III, Djehutihotep was one of the most powerful nomarchs of the Middle Kingdom; his tomb is the only one of the necropolis of Deir el-Bersha which wasn't damaged by the quarrymen's explosives, and is well known for the great quality of its decorations.
In 1904-05 he excavated and recorded graves of several ancient princesses found in the funerary temple complex of king Mentuhotep II at Deir al-Bahari, as part of the expedition led by Édouard Naville and Henry Hall.
Their discoveries include the discovery of a shrine for the god Hathor, a statue of a cow from Deir el-Bahri, the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the sculpted model of Nefertiti from Amarna.
He is a board member of the Gaza Community Health Clinic, and has established medical clinics in towns and cities across the Gaza Strip, including Gaza City, Khan Younis, Jabalia and Deir el-Balah.
