Del Porter

Del Porter (né Delmar Smith Porter; 13 April 1902 Newberg, Oregon — 4 October 1977 Los Angeles) was an American jazz vocalist, saxophonist, and clarinetists who, in the 1930s, performed on Broadway, toured with Glenn Miller, and recorded with Bing Crosby, Dick Powell, and Red Nichols, and in the 1940s, led his own big band.

Delmar Boulevard

Delmar is interrupted at Spring Avenue by Cardinal Ritter High School; the street picks up again at Vandeventer Avenue, two blocks to the west.

West of the MetroLink tracks at Rosedale Avenue, Delmar's character changes as the street enters the Delmar Loop, a neighborhood popular with students of nearby Washington University in St. Louis and known for many eclectic shops and restaurants.

Delmar Loop

The Loop is the home of the St. Louis Walk of Fame, a series of brass plaques embedded in the sidewalk along Delmar Boulevard commemorating famous St. Louisans, including musicians Chuck Berry, Miles Davis and Tina Turner, actor John Goodman, bridge-builder James Eads and sexologists Masters and Johnson.

The Pageant, located across Delmar from the Arts Commission, has become one of St. Louis's main venues for mid-size popular musical performances, featuring rap, rock, and country artists, including Saint Louisans Chuck Berry and Nelly.

Eugene Delmar (born September 12, 1841, New York – died February 22, 1909, New York), was one of the leading United States chess masters of 19th century and the four-time New York State champion in 1890, 1891, 1895 and 1897.

Heflin, Louisiana

Delmar Ray Thompson, known as Del Thompson (1933-2013), a native of Ashley County in southern Arkansas and reared in Bastrop, Louisiana, was a member of the Heflin Town Council.
